You'll be burning a few calories so you can afford to fill up with some great food.
There are lots a great mountain cafes, and restaurants to choose from. They serve everything from self-service snacks to full sit down meals, and of course you can pop in anytime to have a break and a cup of hot chocolate or a glass of mulled wine.
In general we find the food in the French ones to be better value than on the Swiss side of the Portes du Soleil.
Here are just a few we like:-
Le Fantaski
This is located on your right as soon as you come off the Pierre Longue chair lift from Pre la Joux.
A great restaurant offering good value and fast service. We recommend "The American" burger which is served with chips and is large enough to share.
L'Abricotine
This is located by Les Brochaux chair lift, between Les Lindarets and Pointe de Mossette.
The service is slow, but they serve excellent home cooked food. Our favourites are their lasagne and crepes with raspberries and cream.

Les Trappeurs at Avoriaz
This restaurant is at the top of the green run called Dromonts, and overlooks the slopes at Avoriaz.
Not cheap, but they do make fantastic omelettes etc.

The Goat Village Restaurants
Just a little down the hill from the main bowl area of Les Lindarets, in the direction of Ardent, you'll find the goat village. As you may have guessed from the name, there are lots of goats grazing around this area in the summer. It's a very pretty hamlet with lots of great restaurants to choose from. If you return in the summer you can feed the goats too!
Les Portes du Soleil Restaurant
An attactive log cabin style restaurant located on the far side of the ski runs at Super Chatel. Very good onion soup!
Packed Lunch
On sunny days we often take out a packed lunch. Not only does this save money, but it's really pleasant to find a quiet spot in the sun and enjoy the views.
